“So young, so new, already so good live” (David Fricke, Sirius XM)
“A promising start which leaves us excited to see what’s next” (Notion Magazine)
Woomb is a duo based between London and Sofia, featuring singer-songwriter Hristo Yordanov and composer/producer Gueorgui Linev, founder of Billboard-charting project Kan Wakan.
Formed after a random encounter at a post-lockdown house party, the band members found a shared deep love for artists like Cocteau Twins, Bjork, Nick Drake, Slowdive, Brian Eno and Portishead. Not long after they began recording ideas and finding a solid base within this experimentation process. The name of the duo refers to the unspoken and unsatisfied hunt for a love that we treasure.
After teasing with a performance video of the haunting “Pray for the Worst” in May and making their first live appearances through the summer, in October, Woomb released their official first single - “Last Rays”, accompanied by a video which combines Bulgarian pagan symbols, Greek mythology and biblical elements.
In November 2023, Woomb played their first sold-out gig in Sofia and as of early 2024 the band is currently working on their debut EP.
Womb’s next single “Shape Yourself Around Me” and a remix of “Pray for the Worst” are primed for release by the end of the winter.
